Martha on the Fly is a micro-diner with a focus on take-away service located in the Tremont neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio. The design of the space is influenced by the economies of the early American Diner. The economy of speed, particularly, allowing the proprietors to launch and operate a food service enterprise quickly influenced the project implementation process. The economy of assembly, that is, prefabricated elements and simplified construction methods influenced the design decisions. And the economy of materials, specifically, utilitarian functions and cost constraints influenced the finishes and specifications.
